Progress & check-ins
How do I check in?
On Home, tap Family Check-In to go through your books one at a time. For a single curriculum, open it and tap Check in. Enter the last fully completed lesson, page, or unit. You don’t need to enter what happened on each school day.
I entered the wrong lesson or page.
Open the curriculum and, under Progress & plan, tap your child’s check-ins (for example, Lily’s check-ins). Then correct the mistaken entry. The app keeps the earlier record as part of its history.
What if our recent pace won’t reach the finish date?
Look at your latest check-in and your finish date. If your recent pace falls short, consider making more time for that curriculum or choosing a later finish date. Being ahead of earlier milestones doesn’t guarantee that the pace you’re keeping will get you to the end.
Why is the app asking for an update?
The app needs a fresh completed position to give you a useful answer. Check in even if the position hasn’t changed. It won’t assume that unreported work is complete. Known, dated breaks affect how it treats the age of your last check-in.
Setup & your plan
How do I add my first curriculum?
- Add the curriculum and choose how you count progress, such as lessons or pages.
- Enter the total work and the last fully completed position. Use 0 if you haven’t started.
- Choose your finish date and available school days. Include planned breaks and breathing room.
- Review the weekly pace before saving.
Setup is free, and so is your first check-in.
Can I start in the middle of the year?
Yes. Enter where your child is now and when you want to finish. You don’t need to reconstruct past assignments or school days. Recent-pace insights develop as you add dated check-ins.
How do I change our finish date or school calendar?
To change one curriculum’s finish date or pace, open it, tap the ••• button, and choose Edit plan. For school days and breaks, tap the gear on Home and choose Family Calendar. Review changes before saving. A plan change doesn’t count as a new check-in.
Deleted a curriculum?
I deleted a curriculum by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes. Deleted curricula stay on your iPhone for 30 days. Tap the gear on Home, choose Recently deleted, and tap Restore. The curriculum comes back exactly as it was, with all its history.
Each curriculum in Recently deleted shows the date it will be removed. Recently deleted appears in the gear menu only while something is in it.
It isn’t in Recently deleted. Is it gone?
Maybe not. Tap the gear on Home, choose Data & backups, then Find a deleted curriculum. Before big changes, such as restoring a backup or updating your data for a new version of the app, Curriculum Pacer saves a recovery copy on your iPhone. This looks through those copies for curricula that are no longer in your data.
If it finds yours, tap Restore this curriculum. Only that curriculum and its history come back. Nothing else changes, and a recovery copy of your current data is saved first.
Because recovery copies are made only before big changes, a curriculum added and deleted between them can’t be found this way. If you exported a backup that includes it, Restore a backup can bring it back, but that replaces all your current data.
How do I delete or archive a curriculum?
Open the curriculum, tap the ••• button, and choose Manage curriculum…. Choose Archive curriculum to put it away and find it later under Completed & archived, or Delete curriculum… to move it to Recently deleted.
To remove a deleted curriculum right away, open Recently deleted and tap Delete now. This removes it, its progress, plan history, and cover photo for good.
Backups & photos
How do I save a backup?
Tap the gear on Home, choose Data & backups, then Export a backup. Choose where to save the file in Files.
The backup contains your family’s records and saved cover photos. Keep it somewhere you control. Your iPhone’s own backup includes your plans, too.
How do I restore a backup?
In Data & backups, choose Restore a backup and select a Curriculum Pacer backup file. Review the confirmation before continuing.
Restoring replaces all your current data. It doesn’t merge two sets of data. The app saves a recovery copy first. To bring back a single curriculum instead, see Deleted a curriculum?
My backup won’t import.
Check that you selected a Curriculum Pacer backup file and that the file is no larger than 25 MiB. The app checks the backup before offering to replace your data.
Keep the original file. Note the exact error message so the issue can be investigated; don’t send a full backup in an initial support request.
How do I add or remove a cover photo?
Open the curriculum, tap the ••• button, and choose Change cover photo. Select an image, take a photo with camera permission, or choose Remove cover photo.
If camera access is denied, select an existing image or turn on camera access in iOS Settings. Removing a cover doesn’t remove copies in earlier backups.
Where is my data stored, and how can I remove it?
Your records are stored on your iPhone. Your iPhone’s backups and any backups you export are separate copies. The app doesn’t have a single “delete all data” control.
Deleting the app through iOS removes its data from your iPhone, including the app’s recovery copies; offloading keeps it. Manage exported files and device backups separately. Read the privacy policy for details.
Reminders
Can the app remind me to check in?
Yes, if you’d like. The check-in reminder is off until you turn it on. Tap the gear on Home, choose Check-in reminder, turn it on, and pick a day and time. After a check-in, the app may also ask, “Want a nudge on check-in day?”
You’ll get one reminder every school week, on the day and time you picked, and none during your planned breaks. The Check-in reminder screen shows when the next one comes. If it’s been a few weeks since your last check-in, the reminder gently says so, and after a break it welcomes you back.
Will I be reminded before my free trial ends?
Yes. If you allow notifications, you’ll get one reminder at 9 AM, 2 days before your trial ends. A card on Home also shows the date your trial ends and the price after that, starting 2 days before. Tap Got it to hide the card.
I’m not getting reminders.
Make sure notifications are turned on for Curriculum Pacer in your iPhone’s Settings app, under Notifications. When they’re off, the Check-in reminder screen shows an Open Settings button that takes you there.
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, so they don’t need an account or an internet connection.
Membership & free trial
What can I do for free?
Setup is free: add your children, your curricula, and your plans. Your first check-in is free too, so you can see your results before you decide.
After those first results, the app offers the 14-day free trial. Tap Not now to keep looking around. Everything you’ve entered stays viewable, and you can start the trial from Home whenever you’re ready. Check-ins and changes need the free trial or a membership.
What does Curriculum Pacer cost?
Curriculum Pacer is free for 14 days, then $39.99 a year. Also available: $5.99 a month, or $119.99 once for lifetime access. The 14-day free trial comes with the annual plan.
If you don’t continue after the trial, everything you’ve entered stays in the app for you to view. Your records are never hidden or deleted.
Where can I see my membership?
Tap the gear on Home and choose Membership. Under Status you’ll see your plan and its date, such as “Trial ends October 31, 2026,” “Annual renews…,” or “Lifetime.” From there you can tap Restore purchases or, during a trial or subscription, Manage subscription.
I already paid, but the app doesn’t show it. How do I restore my purchase?
Tap the gear on Home, choose Membership, then tap Restore purchases. Make sure your iPhone is signed in with the Apple Account that bought it.
How do I change or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. In the app, tap the gear on Home, choose Membership, then Manage subscription. Or, on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name (Apple Account), then tap Subscriptions and choose Curriculum Pacer.
If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. To cancel a free trial without being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Something isn’t working?
Make a note of the following so you can describe the problem clearly:
- What you were trying to do.
- What happened instead, including the exact error message.
- Your app version and iOS version.
If you share a screenshot, hide children’s names and other identifying information. Please don’t include schoolwork, photos, or a complete backup in an initial request.
